DearJohnnies
Forty weeks is a long time to wait and for some of us, it becomes 40+ weeks. But the time spent waiting is nearly forgotten the minute we see and hold our precious newborn for the first time. We want this moment to last forever…so we take pictures. Lots of pictures! Are they the most flattering pictures we have ever posed for? Probably not…no makeup, less than salon perfect hair and sporting a generic hospital gown that we would prefer to forget. Oh, the thought of what could have been beautiful mommy and baby pictures…

Thanks to Rachel Zinny of DearJohnnies, unflattering delivery gowns are fast becoming a distant memory. Fed up with poor fitting, boring and often times recycled hospital johnnies, Rachel created a line of beautiful, personalized and ultra chic gowns for expectant mothers. She wore a "prototype" during the birth of her second child and it was a clear hit. Requests from friends soon followed and now Rachel makes her beautiful gowns available to all through her website, dearjohnnies.com.

I have been singing the praises of my "new find" but I have yet to tell you all the amazing features. DearJohnnies gowns come in four delightful patterns (Lucy, CeCe, Lexie and Ellie) and are available in two sizes, S/M and L/XL. Each gown has snap-down sleeves for breastfeeding and ease of access for medical attention (vs. having to completely pull down the sleeve and be exposed). Also, each gown has snaps that close down the back to keep you covered from behind (vs. hospital gowns with one single tie...no risk of mooning the doctors). Each gown is made from 100% oh-so-soft cotton and trimmed with coordinating grosgrain ribbon. An optional monogram is available to make your DearJohnnies just that much more special.

Just one more important tip from DearJohnnies…"Most moms like to have two gowns - one for labor and delivery and one to wear the following day or two". Think about it, you can settle for two days in a dreadful hospital issued gown monogrammed with "Property of City Hospital" on the chest or you can feel like, look like and have lasting memories (and photos) of being the most attractive mommy on the maternity ward in your DearJohnnies.
